Entering its season opener on Wednesday night, the Orange junior varsity football team hadn’t lost a game in over three years.
The streak is still alive…barely.
Orange defeated Athens Drive 13-12 at Auman Stadium in the first of ten games this season for the Panthers. The Jaguars had a chance to win with just 1:45 remaining after scoring a touchdown. Athens went for a 2-point conversion on the point after, but Orange held them out of the end zone by roughly 18 inches.
Afterwards, Zahmir Watkins, Jared Weaver and Curtis Ward discussed the Panthers 1st win of the season on the gridiron.
