Colin Guentensberger has been a mainstay around the Orange football team the past two seasons. He was a starting linebacker last season and also played wide receiver. Over the spring, he was the starting right fielder for the Orange baseball team, where former coach Dean Dease called him “a second leadoff batter” while batting ninth. After a trip to Washington during the break created by Hurricane Florence, Guentensberger took a family trip to Washington, D.C. to watch his beloved Chicago Cubs take another step toward the National League Central Division Championship. On Friday, Guentensberger and the rest of the Orange Panthers travel to East Chapel Hill in the Big 8 Conference opener for both teams.
