Orange outside hitter Aubrey Jordan named second-team 5A All-State, signs with Gardner-Webb

Aubrey Jordan surpassed 1,000 career kills in her senior season, concluding a remarkable career where she played an instrumental role in the Lady Panthers winning two Central Conference championships. This week, Jordan was named second-team 5A All-State by the North Carolina Volleyball Coaches Association. Jordan led the Lady Panthers with 3.1 kills per set to help the team to the 5A State Quarterfinals. Overall,  Jordan finished with 270 kills to lead the team. Her season-best was 21 in a match against J.F. Webb in Hillsborough, where she passed the 1,000 kill plateau for her career. Jordan played her best in the final matches of her career. She finished with double-digit kills in each of her last eight matches. In the second round of the state playoffs, Jordan had 13 kills in a win at Southern Nash. Against Southeast Alamance in the opening round, Jordan had 15 kills in her final match inside Orange High Gymnasium. In her sophomore season, Jordan set her career-high with 385 kills, which helped propel Orange to the 3A Eastern Regional championship. In the 3A State Championship match at Reynolds Coliseum, Jordan led the team with 20 kills against Kings Mountain. Last Wednesday, Jordan formally signed with Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs. She was joined by her mother Jennifer and her father David.
