HILLSBOROUGH SPORTS & ROSEWOOD WEALTH MANAGEMENT
If you’ve ever wandered into a high school gym in Orange County there’s a good chance you’ve spotted Jeff Hamlin — headset on, notebook in hand, and that trademark gleam in his eye that says, “I know exactly how this rivalry started.” Jeff isn’t just a broadcaster; he’s the unofficial historian of Orange County high school sports. A longtime Triangle resident and professional play-by-play storyteller, he’s turned HillsboroughSports.com into the go-to home for game coverage, stats, and those little nuggets of local sports lore you won’t find anywhere else.
Jeff brings an encyclopedic knowledge to every game, whether it’s a nail-biter under the lights or a sunny afternoon on the diamond. He doesn’t just call what’s happening — he adds the backstory, the rivalries, the community pride, and the occasional “you had to be there” moment that make local sports so addictive. For athletes, coaches, and fans alike, his voice has become part of what makes Orange County athletics feel like, well, home.
Jeff attended Orange High School, where he graduated in 1991. He owes a great deal of his life to high school sports, starting when he became a manager for the basketball team in his sophomore year. From that point forward, high school sports has been a part of him. He did play-by-play for the Lee County Yellow Jackets, the Northern Durham Knights and the Chapel Hill Tigers before starting Hillsboroughsports.com in 2016.
Backing this hyper-local sports magic is Rosewood Wealth Management, founded by John Stillman. John and his team share Jeff’s passion for supporting student-athletes and have made it possible for HillsboroughSports.com to keep shining a spotlight on the county’s rising stars. It’s a true community partnership: Jeff calls the games, Rosewood fuels the mission, and the whole county gets to cheer a little louder.
