Orange football’s Kayden Bradsher, Jackson Moody, Taylor Laparra, Ranen Pinnix & Brayden Johnson discuss win over Northern Durham

Kayden Bradsher scored two touchdowns and had an interception as Orange defeated Northern Durham 43-22 at Auman Stadium on Friday night. Bradsher set the tone with a 75-yard touchdown run, a career long, on the Panthers’ 2nd play from scrimmage. Quarterback Jackson Moody factored in on three touchdowns, including a 40-yard pass to Preston Utley with 6:46 remaining in the first half. Moody also scored on a 1-yard touchdown on a quarterback sneak with 6:26 remaining in the fourth quarter. Moody also hit Bradsher for a touchdown pass. Junior defensive end Taylor Laparra had a sack to shut down Northern’s opening drive, which took over nearly five minutes to open the game. Laparra played defensive end as well as tight end on defense, helping Orange amass 401 yards total offense, a season-high. Bradsher and Markus Thomas each had over 100 yards rushing. Center Ranen Pinnix kept Northern’s defensive line worn down as the game went on. It was the first varsity start for Brayden Johnson, who was called up from the junior varsity team to play on the right side of the line. Orange defeated Northern Durham in Hillsborough for the first time since 2017. The Panthers are 2-2 and will host Seaforth to open the Big 7 Conference schedule next Friday in Hillsborough.
