Orange volleyball’s Emilee Cothran & Abigail Pfeiffenberger discuss win over Durham School of the Arts

A young Orange volleyball team ended the week with two Big 7 Conference wins after sweeping Durham School of the Arts on Thursday night in Hillsborough. The Lady Panthers won on scores of 25-4, 25-12 and 25-18. Sophomore Emilee Cothran finished with five kills, one shy of her career high. It was the highest total for Cothran since August 13, when she amassed six against Southeast Alamance in Hillsborogh. Cothran is in her first year at the varsity level and has been a regular rotation player for head coach Mary Alice Pike. Junior Abigail Pfeiffenberger tied her career-high with five kids. Pfeiffenberger also had two digs. Pfeiffenberger also had five kills against South Granville in Creedmoor on Tuesday. She also had five in the season-opener against D.H. Conley. Usually, Pfeiffenberger can be found on the other side of the camera at sporting events. She has her own photography Instagram page where she puts up shots from football, lacrosse and soccer games. Her Instagram page can be found @shotss.by.abi. Pfeiffenberger’s brother, Brady, is a defenseman for the Orange lacrosse team. The Lady Panthers improved to 5-5, 2-1 in the Big 7 Conference. After the Labor Day holiday, Orange will return to action against J.F. Webb in Hillsborough. On Thursday, the Lady Panthers will travel to Pittsboro to face Seaforth, which currently lead the Big 7 Conference.
