It’s now three wins in three matches for the Eno River women’s golf team.
On Monday, the Bobcats won its opening home meet of the year at Mill Creek Golf Club in Mebane. Sophomore Sophie Purcell paced the entire field with a score of 50. It’s the third time in three matches that Purcell finished first individually.
The Bobcats finished with 153 team strokes. Falls Lake Academy came in second with 162. Henderson Collegiate was third with 167. Oxford Preparatory and Vance Charter also had various players but not enough for a sanctioned team.
Eno River had the top three individual finishers. Freshman Charlotte Duggan finished one stroke behind Purcell with a 51 over nine holes. Senior Ayla Hill carded a 52 for third place, tied with Summer Fairey, a senior from Oxford Pre.
Lily Zeller finished fifth for Eno River with a 54. Allison Bohlin carded a 60 and finished 16.
The Bobcats women’s golf team has also won events at Kerr Lake Country Club last Tuesday that included Falls Lake Academy, Vance Charter and Henderson Collegiate.
Women’s Tennis: Eno River 9, Henderson Collegiate 0
The Bobcats won its Triangle North Athletic Conference opener after a shutout of Henderson Collegiate at Fairview Tennis Courts in Hillsborough on Monday.
Five players won two matches on the day for Eno River. Top singles player Clara Sanford defeated Maria Arias Garcia 8-0. Sanford also teamed with Meg Brinkman to win over Garcia and Brandy Vick 8-1 in the top doubles match.
Brinkman defeated Alaejah Garland 8-0 in the #4 singles match.
At #2 singles, Dahlia Kisala defeated Brandy Vick 8-0. Kisala teamed with Sadie Davies-Payne to defeat Maritza Barcenas and Garland 8-1 in the #2 doubles match.
Davies-Payne won at #3 singles over Barcenas 8-0.
Gia Morgan also won two matches on the day. She defeated Silvana Torres 8-0 at #5 singles. Morgan won her doubles match with partner Elliana Harrell. They defeated Tianna Whitely and Angela Ponce 8-0.
At #6 singles, Natalie Harkins defeated Angeli Bolanos 8-0.
Eno River is 4-1, 1-0 in the TNAC. They will travel to face Vance Charter next Wednesday.
Volleyball: Vance Charter 3, Eno River Academy 1
Coming off its win over defending 1A State Champion Falls Lake Academy, Vance Charter retained its top spot in the Triangle North Athletic Conference by beating the Bobcats on Tuesday in Hillsborough.
Vance Charter won on scores of 25-14, 27-29, 25-17, 25-17.
Maddie Spohr led the Bobcats with 14 kills. Junior Johanna Jans had six kills. Jans also led Eno River with 21 digs.
Eno River falls to 6-4 overall, 3-2 in the TNAC. They will travel to Henderson Collegiate on Tuesday.
Men’s Soccer: Durham School of the Arts 8, Eno River Academy 1
In a nonconfernce matchup at soccer.com Complex in Efland on Tuesday night, the Bulldogs defeated the Bobcats. Eno River falls to 3-3. They will face Henderson Collegiate next Tuesday in Efland.
