The Enos River Academy women’s golf team won both of its opening matches in the Triangle North Conference this week.
On Monday, Henderson Country Club in Vance County hosted the opening match of the year. Eno River’s Sophie Purcell placed first in the opening match of the year, finishing with a 48. Eno River’s Ayla Hill finished second with a 54. Eno River earned the top spot competing against four other teams.
Kerr Lake Country Club in Henderson hosted the second meet on Tuesday. Once again, Purcell finished first overall with a 50 competing against three other teams from the Triangle North Athletic Conference. Hill came in second with a 54.
Men’s soccer: Eno River Academy 2, Woods Charter 1
Coming off a tough loss to Roxboro Community School, Eno River bounced back with a win over Woods Charter in Chapel Hill on Friday night.
Clay Jablonski scored the game-winning goal for the Bobcats. Rocco Massimino added a tally for the Bobcats.
The Bobcats improved to 3-2. They will face Durham School of the Arts at the soccer.com Complex in Efland on Tuesday night. The Bobcats will play its Triangle North Conference opener against Henderson Collegiate on September 8 in Efland.
Roxboro Community School 4, Eno River Academy 1:
The Bobcats took the trip up Highway 157 to face the Bulldogs in Person County on Thursday night. Roxboro Community sophomore Jonathan Garrett came away with two goals as the Bulldogs won its second straight game.
Braylon Woods also tallied a goal for Roxboro Community, which was coming off a win over crosstown river Person High on Tuesday. Senior Ethan Hughes also scored for the Bulldogs.
Junior Jonathan Bryan and freshman Tanner Foti recorded assists for the Bulldogs. Roxboro Community improved to 2-1.
Roxboro Community recorded 17 shots. Eight of them were on next. Bulldogs goalkeeper Jax Oliver, a senior, earned the win after making nine saves against the Bobcats.
It was the first matchup between the Bobcats and the Bulldogs since October 23, 2024, who Eno River won 3-0.
