The Cedar Ridge volleyball team received its first true test of 2026 in Durham on Monday night, but they still emerged undefeated. The Red Wolves defeated Jordan 3-1 at Falcons Gymnasium. After sweeping Roxboro Community School and Southern Durham last week, Cedar Ridge dropped the second set against the Falcons. Cedar Ridge battled back from a 11-7 deficit in the fourth set. Senior Calla Lundberg delivered two aces during a crucial 5-0 run to put the Red Wolves ahead 20-17. Senior Addilyn Jackson finished with ten kills and a crucial block to put the Red Wolves head 22-18. Sophomore Kaitlyn Dixon had another big block for the 24th point. Jackson also had two aces in the fourth set. Jackson is a transfer from West Carteret who is in her second year at Cedar Ridge. Last week against Southern Durham, she finished with 14 kills. Jackson finished with seven aces. Lundberg was a regular rotation player for the Red Wolves’ 2025 Big 7 Conference championship team that was the #1 seed for the 5A State Playoffs. After the loss of three starters from last year’s team, Lundberg will be counted on as Cedar Ridge prepares for its conference opener against Seaforth next week in Pittsboro. On Tuesday (tonight), the Red Wolves will play its fourth straight road match at Southeast Alamance. On Thursday, they face Person in its home opener.
