Cedar Ridge Red Wolf of the Week: Michelle Pringley

This week’s Cedar Ridge Red Wolf of the Week is freshman track & field athlete Michelle Pringley. It was a busy freshman season for Pringley, who won the Big 7 Conference Championship in the shot put with a throw of 34-feet, 7-inches. Pringley also finished second in the discus with a throw of 101-feet. At the 5A Central Regionals, Pringley qualified for the 5A State Championships in the discus and the shot put. In the discus, Pringley finished fourth with a throw of 113-feet, two-inches. In the shot put, Pringley came in fifth at 34-feet, ten-inches. At the 5A State Championships inside Truist Stadium in Greensboro, Pringley came in eighth in the discus. She also finished 12th in the shot put, the best finish among freshmen. Pringley also qualified for the 5A State Indoor Track & Field Championships, finishing 10th at the JDL FastTrack in Winston-Salem with a throw of 30-feet, 4.5-inches. While she was competing in indoor track, Pringley was also a center for the Cedar Ridge women’s basketball team. Pringley started running track with the world famous Durham Striders in elementary school. As a three-sport athlete, Pringley will spend the summer competing on the travel circuit as she continues to stave for bigger goals at Cedar Ridge on the track and on the hardwood.
