This week’s Cedar Ridge Red Wolf of the Week is senior runner Henry Alexander. On May 15, Alexander ended his running career competing in the 3,200 meters at the 5A State Track & Field Championships inside Truist Stadium at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro. Alexander placed All-Big 7 Conference for the Red Wolves. At the 5A Central Regional championships, Alexander finished sixth at Southeast Alamance High School to qualify for the state championships. Last fall, Alexander was a vital member of the Cedar Ridge men’s cross country team that pulled a major upset and captured the Big 7 Conference championship at Forest Hills Park in Durham. Alexander finished 12th as Cedar Ridge held off Orange by two points to claim the conference crown. Alexander also made All-Conference in cross country. In outdoor track & field, Alexander finished 8th at the Big 7 Conference championships at Seaforth High School in Pittsboro on April 28. In the 3,200 meters, Alexander finished 3rd with a time of 10:12.54. Alexander has been a runner at Cedar Ridge for four years at the varsity level in cross country and in track & field. When he graduated next month, he plans to attend Appalachian State University and wants to continue running at the club level.
