It was the final meet for Orange senior Piper White inside the Orange County SportsPlex on Wednesday night. In her final conference championship meet, White came away with two individual gold medals at the Big 7 Conference Championships in Hillsborough. She captured the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:02.28. For the third year in a row, White won the conference championship in the 100 yard freestyle at 56.11 seconds. White also swam the anchor leg as Orange won the gold medal in the 200 yard freestyle relay. She teamed with Emma Spey, Addison Moore and Ainsley Rasinske to take first place at 1:51.11. White has won six individual conference championships in her Orange career. In 2024 and 2025, White won the Central Conference championships of the 50 and 100 yard freestyles. White is also a member of the first Orange women’s swimming team to win a relay event in the 3A State Championships in school history. When she was a sophomore, White touched the wall a fraction of a second ahead of Central Cabarrus’ Audrey Wolff at the anchor leg to win the 200 yard medley relay state championship at the Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary. White has qualified for the 5A East Regionals, which will be held at the Triangle Aquatic Center on Friday, January 30.
