Payton Wilson: The Pittsburgh Steelers took another step towards the AFC North Division championship with a 28-15 win over the Miami Dolphins at Acrisure Stadium. Wilson earned a sack in the third quarter on Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and finished with four tackles. It was likely the final start for Tagovailoa with the Dolphins. Following the game, Tagovailoa was demoted to the third string by head coach Mike McDaniel. Pittsburgh is 8-6, one game ahead of Baltimore for first place. The Steelers face the Detroit Lions at Ford Field on Sunday.
Amiyah Ware: The Division II North Greenville women’s basketball team defeated Southern Wesleyan 85-81 at Tysinger Gymnasium in Central, SC on Tuesday. Ware was one of five Timberwolves in double figures with ten points, shooting 4-of-8 from the field over 16 minutes. She shot 1-of-3 from 3-point range. North Greenville goes into Christmas break with a 6-5 record, 3-2 in Conference Carolinas. Ware is the second-leading scorer on the team averaging 11.5 points per game over ten games. She is averaging 18 minutes per game.
Fernando Martinez: The former Cedar Ridge wrestler has transferred from UNC Pembroke. He is currently working with the Cedar Ridge wrestling team and is looking to continue his college wrestling career elsewhere. Martinez spent two seasons at UNC Pembroke.
