Orange’s Katie Silcott signs with Palm Beach Atlantic University

Katie Silcott spent the last four years as a Swiss Army knife for the Orange volleyball team. She has been a setter, an outside hitter and a blocker. Her ubiquitous presence led to Orange winning two conference championships and the 3A Eastern Regional Championship in 2023. Last week, Silcott formally signed with Division II Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, FL. She finished her Orange career last month with 2,306 assists. This year, she led the team with 444 assists. In her sophomore season of 2023, Silcott broke the school record with 1,037 assists in a memorable campaign where Orange went undefeated in the Central Conference regular season and played inside Reynolds Coliseum for the 3A State Championship against Kings Mountain. In the state championship match, she had 22 assists, eleven digs and four kills. Silcott had seven triple-doubles in her career. This season, she finished with a career-high 85 aces. Silcott finished her career with 250 aces. In the 2023 3A Eastern Regional championship match against Carrboro, Silcott had 24 assists, 14 digs and eight kills as Orange won a 3-2 battle against the Jaguars. During her signing ceremony last week at Orange High, Silcott was joined by her father Chris, her mother Bethany, her sister Maddie and brother Jackson.
