This week’s Cedar Ridge Red Wolf of the Week is sophomore volleyball outside hitter Dani Solomon. Last week, Solomon opened the season with 16 kills as the Red Wolves defeated Roxboro Community School 3-0 in Person County. On Thursday, Solomon had seven kills in a sweep of Southern Durham. Last season, Solomon’s emergence as a freshman put Cedar Ridge back on top of the competitive Orange County volleyball landscape. The Red Wolves won the Big 7 Conference regular season and tournament championships. She set a freshman school record with 294 kills. Joining then-senior Claire Hargett, Solomon had 20 kills in just her third varsity game, a 3-2 win at Grimsley in Greensboro. She had a career-high 26 kills in a. 3-1 win over Seaforth on August 28, which paved the way for the Red Wolves to win the league title. In the Big 7 Tournament, Solomon had 17 kills against Orange and eleven against Seaforth. On September 29, Solomon had 21 kills in a win over Person in Roxboro. Over the summer, Solomon visited various summer camps across the southeast. With the graduation of six regular rotation players, Solomon now finds herself among the most seasoned players on the 2026 team. The Red Wolves are off to a 3-0 start and will host Person for its home opener on Thursday at Red Wolves Gymnasium.
