The final Cedar Ridge Red Wolf of the Week for the 2025-26 academic year is junior runner Ayla Henry. Last spring, Henry finished second in the 5A Central Regional championships in the 800 meters. She clocked in with a time of 2:26.13 at Southeast Alamance High School in Haw River. Henry qualified for the NCHSAA 5A State Championships at North Carolina A&T University inside Truist Stadium in Greensboro. She finished 15th in the state with a time of 2:34.45. Henry also ran the anchor leg for the Cedar Ridge 4×800 relay team, which finished fourth in the regional championships with a time of 10:31.49. Once again, Henry qualified for the state championships with the relay team. Henry, Ila Diaz, Lily Mallia and Isabella Taylor-Martinez finished 5th in the state at 10:11.24. Last year, Henry was a member of the Cedar Ridge women’s cross country team, which won the 5A Central Regional championship at the Ivey Redmond Sports Complex in Kernersville. Henry came in 16th in the region as six Red Wolf runners finished among the top 18 in the region. Cedar Ridge finished 3rd in the Big 7 Conference. Overall, she finished among the top 20 runners in the conference. On Saturday, Henry will start her junior season during the Early Bird Challenge at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary.
