Myles Jermyn has had one of the most decorated careers in Orange High running history. He was a member of Orange’s 2024 3A State Championship men’s cross country team, which won the title at the Ivey Redmond Sports Complex in Kernersville. Jermyn has been a member of two Mideast Regional Cross Country teams at Orange, including finishing 2nd individually in 2024. On Wednesday afternoon, Jermyn formally signed to run at Duke University during a ceremony at Orange High Gymnasium. His father, Kevin, is the head men’s and women’s cross country coach with the Blue Devils. He finished second individually in the 5A State Championships last November, which led to the Panthers finishing second in the team standings behind Oak Grove. Last December, Jermyn competed in the Brooks National Cross Country Championships in San Diego. He was one of three runners to qualify for the National Championships during the South Regionals at McAlpine Park in Charlotte. He was one of 50 runners to qualify for the race in San Diego. Jermyn has helped Orange win three Central Conference Championships. He started running at Orange Middle School. Last fall, Jermyn finished 2nd in the Mideast Regional championships. This weekend, Jermyn will compete in the Mideast Regional for Outdoor Track & Field at Southeast Alamance High School.
