This week’s Cedar Ridge Red Wolf of the Week is senior catcher Brittani Goodard. This season, Goddard is hitting .346 with nine doubles for a Cedar Ridge softball team that is second in the Big 7 Conference. On March 23, Goddard hit her first home run of the season in a win over the Durham School of the Arts. Goddard went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored in a victory over Northwood on April 9. Against Orange on April 10, Goddard delivered a crucial double in the sixth inning as the Red Wolves fought back from a 6-3 deficit to defeat the Lady Panthers 8-7 in eight innings. Goddard went 2-for-3 with two RBIs against Orange. On March 18, Goddard went 2-for-4 with two doubles in a 5-3 win over Falls Lake Academy in Creedmoor. Goddard has stayed active in various pursuits at Cedar Ridge. She has been a cheerleader for men’s and women’s basketball. In February, Goddard formally signed to play softball for Division III Greensboro College of the USA South Conference. In 2025, Goddard hit .269 with two home runs and 16 RBIs for a Red Wolves team that reached the second round of the 3A State Playoffs. The Red Wolves defeated West Johnston 12-1 in five inning in the opening round of the state playoffs. Goddard went 2-for-3 with a double. Cedar Ridge will continue its season against Durham School of the Arts on Tuesday.
