The Cedar Ridge Red Wolves walked into Red Wolves Stadium carrying cardboard head shots of various figures who had influenced them over the past four years as they prepared for its final home game.
For many of the players, they stayed active in other sports while making lacrosse their top focus all year around.
Goalkeeper Mikey O’Melia wrestled for two conference championship teams at Cedar Ridge under head coach Scott Metcalf. In February, he qualified for the 5A State Individual championships.
Delsin Jones played basketball the past three years, earning more minutes last winter under the direction of head coach Brian Davis.
While the Red Wolves season has been filled with tight losses, senior Joshua Hart made sure that his final game at Red Wolves Stadium would be a memorable one.
Hart scored a season-high 7 goals as the Red Wolves defeated Southeast Alamance 14-8 on Thursday night. Hart, who leads Cedar Ridge with 38 goals, is one of the senior co-Captains, along with O’Melia, Grant Thole and Alexander Desrosiers.
Hart has now scored 125 goals in his Cedar Ridge career.
Junior attacker Jackson Burrows scored his sixth hat trick of the season, scoring three goals and adding one assist. Last week, Burrows scored four goals in a loss to Northwood. He has 26 goals in 2026.
Junior Jeremy Holoqist had two goals and two assists. Colby Hendrickson and Devon Lewis each added a goal.
Cedar Ridge earned its third win of the season. It was the final home game for Hart, O’Melia, Thole, Jones, Lewis, Katie Shepherd, Colby Hendrickson, Gabe Ward, Joel Nicholson, Kellen Huntington, Ian Galindo-Woodring, and Bryson Carmichael.
The Red Wolves will play its final four games on the road in a fight to make the 6A/1A State Playoffs. On Monday, they will travel to Mebane to face Eastern Alamance. They will travel to Orange on Wednesday, then head to Pittsboro to face Northwood next Friday. The Red Wolves will end the regular season at Southeast Alamance on May 5.
