Cedar Ridge Baseball Seniors Aiden Ryan, Ian McGuffey, Grant McGuffey, Dominic Sena, Carter Warren & Walker Holmes discuss win over DSA

Five seniors who helped provide stability and put the Cedar Ridge baseball team on the verge of a conference championship were honored on Tuesday night. Aiden Ryan, Carter Warren, Dominic Sent, Ian McGuffey, Grant McGuffey and Walker Holmes earned a win on Senior Night as the Red Wolves rolled past Durham School of the Arts 10-0 in five innings at Cedar Ridge Baseball Field. Ryan earned the victory, his fifth of the season, throwing a complete game in five innings, striking out seven. He took a no-hitter into the fifth inning. Warren hit a two-run inside-the-park home run to left field during a five-run second inning. Warren drove in three runs, including an infield single in the third to score John Grove. Ian McGuffey has been a four-year starter and scored in the second inning. Ian McGuffey has been a four-year starter for Cedar Ridge. Grant McGuffey scored both runs in last week’s win over Carrboro, including one where he stole home. Walker Holmes scored a run off a base by Ryan. With the win over the Bulldogs, Cedar Ridge is 15-4. That’s the most wins for Cedar Ridge under head coach Bryson Massey. They’re also the first Cedar Ridge baseball team to win its first nine conference games in a season. The Red Wolves are atop the Big 7 Conference with a 9-0 record. They’re scheduled to travel to Durham School of the Arts on Friday.
