The Orange baseball team had a joyous Senior Night in a 13-0 win in five innings over Durham School of the Arts in Hillsborough on Friday. Ryan Sawyer, Cam Brown, Wren Hash, Gary Miller, Jackson Nobles, and Wyatt Nobles were all honored during a Senior Night ceremony before the game. Brown earned the win on the mound, throwing three-plus innings until being replaced with two out in the fifth inning. He struck out five and allowed only two baserunners. Brown also scored two runs, both times off wild pitches. He also drove in Hash with a double during an eight-run first inning. All six seniors scored a run on Friday night. Just before the final out, Wyatt Nobles joined his five other classmates for a mound meeting with head coach Jason Knapp before leaving the game together. Hash drove in Oliver Van Tiem with a triple to right field in the opening inning. Jackson Nobles scored off a wild pitch in the first inning. In the fourth, Nobles reached on a bases-loaded walk, scoring Allen Flores. Sawyer, in just his third plate appearance of the season, had a single in the first inning. He scored twice. Gary Miller had a two-run double off a bouncer down the third-base line. Orange will return to action against J.F. Webb on Tuesday night in Hillsborough.
