Cedar Ridge Red Wolf of the Week: J.E. Sandor

This week’s Cedar Ridge Red Wolf of the Week is sophomore swimmer J.E. Sandor. In February, Sandor finished fifth in the 200 yard freestyle at the 5A State Championships inside the Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary. At the Big 7 Conference Championships at the Orange County SportsPlex in Hillsborough, Sandor finished 2nd in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:08.32. He also came in second in the 100 yard butterfly, finishing at 57.17 seconds. For the second year in a row, Sandor was named All-Conference. In the conference championships, Sandor teamed with Zion Green, Simon Salazar-Cornado and Christopher Seawell to finish with the silver medal in the 400 yard freestyle relay. On January 8, Sandor qualified for the Mideast Regionals in the 200 yard individual medley and the 100 yard freestyle. On December 15, Sandor qualified for regionals in the 500 yard freestyle. In his freshman year, Sandor broke the school record in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 57.03 seconds. He broke that record several times during the course of his freshman and sophomore seasons. As a freshman, Sandor won the Central Conference championship in the 100 yard breaststroke. In February 2025, he finished second in the butterfly at the 3A Central Regionals in the Greensboro Aquatic Center and advanced to the state championships.
