Cedar Ridge Red Wolf of the Week: Aidan Ryan

This week’s Cedar Ridge Red Wolf of the Week is senior pitcher Aidan Ryan. On March 20, Ryan struck out a career-high 13 batters in a two-hit shutout as the Red Wolves defeated Seaforth 1-0 at Red Wolf Baseball Field. In his next start on Thursday, Ryan struck out ten batters over six innings as the Red Wolves defeated Walter Williams 4-2 in Burlington. Ryan also scored the final run of a single by John Grove. In his first start of the season, Ryan allowed just one hit over four innings, striking out three in a 7-1 win over Southeast Alamance in Haw River. Against Orange on March 13, Ryan drove in Jesus Velazquez with a double to tie the game in the eighth inning. Ryan would score the game-winning run off a walkoff single from Carter Warren as the Red Wolves defeated the Panthers at home for the first time since 2018. Last year, Ryan threw 21 innings and won two games for a Cedar Ridge team that earned a spot in the state playoffs. As a junior, Ryan threw four-plus innings in a 3-2 win over Western Alamance in Elon. Ryan scored the opening run and earned the victory against the Warriors. On Monday, Cedar Ridge will continue its pursuit of the Big 7 Conference championship when they travel to Oxford to face J.F. Webb.
