The Lady Panthers defeated Southern Nash 5-1 in the opening round, a match where Alvis defeated Lareimy Portillo 6-0, 6-1 in singles action. Alvis has been an indoor and outdoor track & field athlete since her freshman year. At the indoor state championships, Alvis finished 5th in the 55 meter hurdles, 5th in the long jump and 9th in the triple jump.
