Orange received seven goals from senior attacker Brett Clark, who led the Panthers with 63 goals and 98 points last season.

Clark scored six consecutive goals in the second half. After Pinecrest’s Hayden Michael tied the game 10-10 with 2:44 remaining in the third quarter, Clark scored on a sidearm shot with to put the Panthers back ahead. It sparked a 5-1 Orange run that carried them to victory.

Just 12 seconds later, Clark got free off a faceoff win from Matthew Macneir, took a pass from Jay Parker and dumped it into the upper right corner to give Orange a 12-10 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Clark would score the opening  two goals of the fourth quarter. Owen Wimsatt, the younger brother of former Orange midfielder Jake Wimsatt, wound up with the game-winning goal coming with 7:01 remaining in regulation.

Wimsatt had a hat trick on opening night.
