Cedar Ridge Red Wolf of the Week: Kennedi Fearrington

This week’s Cedar Ridge Red Wolf of the Week is sophomore women’s basketball guard Kennedi Fearrington. This season, the Red Wolves had to deal with departures and injuries, but Fearrington remained the pillar of the team. It paid off for Cedar Ridge in the final week of the regular season when they defeated J.F. Webb 39-37 at Red Wolf Gymnasium. Fearrington was the leading scorer for the Red Wolves with 8.9 points per game this season. She was also second on the squad with five rebounds per game. In a 34-28 win over East Chapel Hill, Fearrington led the team with eleven rebounds.  A week later, Fearrington scored a career-high 22 points as the Red Wolves defeated East Chapel Hill 53-43 at Wildcats Gymnasium. Through January, Fearrington had three straight games in double-figures, including 13 points against South Granville in Creedmoor. She also scored 13 points in a 66-64 loss at Durham School of the Arts at Sykes Gymnasium. Fearrington played middle school basketball at Gravelly Hill Middle School. Now that the end of the season is here, Fearrington will continue to play basketball with her summer travel team as Cedar Ridge looks to rebuild its corps for the 2026-2027 season. Fearrington will lead the Red Wolves to brighter days ahead.
