Cedar Ridge Red Wolf of the Week: Tripp Beasley

This week’s Cedar Ridge Red Wolf of the Week is senior men’s basketball guard Tripp Beasley. On December 30, Beasley hit a 3-pointer with :6.4 remaining for the game-winning basket as Cedar Ridge defeated Carrboro 46-45 in the seventh place game of the Southeast Alamance Holiday Hoops Invitational. Beasley tied for the team-high of 12 points as the Red Wolves claimed its second win of the season. Beasley was pressed into point guard duties this season after the transfer of Jordan Jacobson to Burlington Christian Academy. In each of his first four games, Beasley scored in double-figures, including 14 points against Discovery Charter School on December 4 in Hillsborough. Against Orange on December 16, Beasley scored his career-high with 16 points, including 4-of-8 shooting from 3-point range. This is Beasley’s second year on the varsity. Last year, he was a regular starter. He played on Cedar Ridge’s junior varsity squad for two years under Brian Davis, who is now in his first year as the Red Wolves varsity head coach. The win over Carrboro was the first time Cedar Ridge won a game in a holiday tournament since 2015, when they defeated C.B. Aycock in Clinton. Beasley will continue his senior season when the Red Wolves face J.F. Webb in Oxford on Friday night.
