This week’s Orange Panther of the Week is senior wrestler Logan Scarantino. Last week, Scarantino claimed his 100th career win at the Eagle Invitational in Mebane. Scarantino pinned Lucas Nicolay of Overhills to achieve the milestone. In the Eagle Invitational, Scarantino finished 2nd at 120 pounds. In the Rumble in the Jungle dual meets at Carrboro High on December 13, Scarantino scored pins four of the Panthers’ five dual matches, winning all of his bouts. He pinned Cole Harrison of Cummings in 35 seconds, Matthew Son of East Chapel Hill in 20 seconds, James Estes of Green Hope in 1:30 and Yahir Villa of Southeast Alamance in 43 seconds. So far this season, Scarantino has eight pins. He has an overall record of 14-4 and has joined a proud list of Panthers to achieve 100 wins in school history. Scarantino has gone undefeated against Big 7 Conference opposition this year. He has made such rapid improvement, he’s already about to surpass the 17 wins he registered last season. This is his fourth year at the varsity level. In his freshman year of 2022-2023, Scarantino won 14 matches, which helped Orange win the Central Conference championship. Scarantino will kick off the 2026 calendar year when he joins his teammates for Orange’s annual trip to the Questin Crosby Invitational at Greensboro Dudley High School on January 3.
