This week’s Cedar Ridge Red Wolf of the Week is senior wrestler Favio Jaramillo. In the Red Wolves season opener on November 13, Jaramillo pinned Eastern Alamance’s Jayden Batten to win his 100th career match. It’s been a successful start to the season for Jaramillo, who has gone undefeated in conference matches so far. Jaramillo defeated Luke Ayers of Seaforth 15-10 as Cedar Ridge handed the Hawks its first conference loss in over three years on December 3. So far this season, Jaramillo is 25-3. He is third on the team with 14 pins. On November 25, Jaramillo pinned Justice Campbell as the Red Wolves defeated the Panthers for the third time ever 60-21. When Jaramillo was a sophomore, he was a major part of the Red Wolves winning the Central Conference championship, just the second regular season title in school history. Jaramillo is the fifth Cedar Ridge wrestler since 2019 to claim his 100th win and the ninth in team history. Last season, Jaramillo was third on the team with 44 wins, which included winning the Eagle Invitational in Mebane at 113 pounds. He also finished runner-up in the Central Conference Tournament at Walter Williams High School. When 2026 begins, Jaramillo is aiming to help Cedar Ridge complete its run to the Big 7 Conference championship. They host Carrboro on January 7.
