Orange Panther of the Week: Dallas Johnson

This week’s Orange Panther of the Week is senior soccer midfielder Dallas Johnson. This fall, Johnson helped the Orange men’s soccer team to the greatest season in school history. They won the Big 7 Conference championship, the first league title for a program that started in August 1987. Johnson was named to the 5A All-State team for the second consecutive year. He became the first player in Orange men’s soccer history to be named to the All-State team twice. Johnson was also named to the All-Region team by the North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association and the All-Big 7 Conference team. Johnson was named the Big 7 Defensive Player of the Year as the Panthers won a school record 18 games. For the first time ever, Orange hosted a game in the second round of the state playoffs, where they defeated Seaforth 3-1. This season, Johnson scored seven goals and three assists. While he was playing for the soccer team, Johnson was also a member of the men’s cross country team, which finished 2nd in the 5A State Championships. Johnson also runs for Orange’s indoor and outdoor track & field teams. He played for the two most successful Orange soccer teams in school history which hosted playoff games in his junior and senior seasons.
