Cedar Ridge men’s basketball’s Kevin Ntim & A.J. Seymore discuss win over Northern Durham

The Cedar Ridge men’s basketball team earned its first win of the season against Northern Durham on November 20. Senior Kevin Ntim had a career-high 18 points as the Red Wolves defeated the Knights 67-57 at Red Wolves Gymnasium. The Red Wolves never trailed and built a 24-point lead in the third quarter. Ntim shot 6-of-10 from the field and also added six rebounds and four assists. It was the first win for new Cedar Ridge men’s basketball coach Brian Davis, a longtime junior varsity coach. He is the first men’s basketball coach school history to have attended Cedar Ridge High. Sophomore A.J. Seymore added 15 points as the Red Wolves shot 42% from the field and avenged a loss to the Knights in Durham on November 14. Senior guard Tripp Beasley and senior center Jack Kelsey each added eleven points as an emotional Red Wolf team overpowered the Knights. Kelsey finished with a double-double, adding ten rebounds with three blocks. After taking Thanksgiving week off, the Red Wolves are back with three games over five days this week. After a loss to Walter Williams in Burlington on Monday, Cedar Ridge will host Discovery Charter School for the first time ever on Thursday night. The Red Wolves will host East Chapel Hill on Friday night.
