The Cedar Ridge men’s soccer team has completed the season with a two-win improvement from 2024. On Monday, Cedar Ridge got two goals fro Tyler Baker to defeat Durham School of the Arts amid a torrential rainfall at Red Wolves Stadium. Luke Atkinson and Alex Bettger added goals for the Red Wolves. On October 20, the Red Wolves defeated J.F. Webb 6-0 in Hillsborough. Junior Sawyer Smith earned the first multi-goal game of his career against the Warriors, scoring twice. He also assisted on a goal from Baker. Smith had four consecutive games with a goal, including the only tally in a 1-1 tie at Seaforth on October 13. He also scored in a win over Eastern Alamance in Mebane. Senior Kai Miller, normally a centerback, was moved to forward in the waning minutes of the win against Webb. Miller wound up scoring his first career goal. Throughout the course of this season, Miller has been a key presence in clearing away balls on opposing attacks and defending goalkeeper Erik Galunas. Under first year head coach Emiliano Chirigliano, Cedar Ridge finished fourth in the Big 7 Conference with a 4-6-2 record. The Red Wolves will await their fate when the field of 48 of the 5A State Tournament is released on Sunday.
