On Friday night, the Orange football team won its first game in over a year. The Panthers defeated Carrboro 38-12 at Jaguars Stadium for its first victory in the Big 7 Conference. For the second consecutive game, junior running back Kayden Bradsher scored four touchdowns. He finished with 154 rushing yards, his second straight 100-yard game. Against J.F. Webb on October 10, he rushed for a career-high 181 yards. Senior wide receiver Hunter Albert had two crucial catches The first came on a 32-yard catch from quarterback Jackson Moody on a 3rd-and-27 to get the ball into the Jaguars red zone. Two plays later, Bradsher scored his third touchdown on a 14-yard run. With 12 seconds remaining in the first quarter, Moody found Albert for a 25-yard touchdown catch to push Orange’s lead to 31-to-6 going to halftime. Orange’s defense held Carrboro to 198 yard total offense. Moody finished 3-for-4 for 56 yards. Orange linebacker Evan Rawlins finished with five tackles. Sophomore Jakai Torain led the Panthers with 12 tackles. Afterwards, Orange presented head coach Fritz Hessenthaler with a game ball for his first win in Hillsborough. The Panthers will look for its first home win of the season against South Granville on Friday night. It will be the final home game for seniors Albert, Jaden Gregory and Wyatt Adams.
