Cedar Ridge Red Wolf of the Week: Brian Tedder…Defensive Player of the Week: Landon Walker

This week’s Cedar Ridge Red Wolf of the Week is senior running back Brian Tedder. The Defensive Player of the Week is junior defensive lineman Landon Walker. On August 29, the Red Wolves defeated Graham 28-6 to end a 29-game losing streak. Tedder set a career-high with 248 rising yards and scored two touchdowns. Tedder has been versatile throughout his career with the Red Wolves, playing on offense and defense. Three years ago, he was in an unusual position because his father was an assistant coach at East Chapel Hill, who Cedar Ridge defeated 8-6 on August 26, 2022. Cedar Ridge didn’t allow a point on defense against Graham. Not only that, but they didn’t allow a first down in the game. In the season-opener against East Chapel Hill, Walker finished with three sacks. Against Graham, he tied for the team lead with six tackles. Walker has been a steady presence on Cedar Ridge’s defense ever since he started as a freshman two years ago. Against McMichael on September 28, Walker led the team with eight sacks. He registered six tackles against Western Harnett. Cedar Ridge will take this week off and returns to action against South Granville in Creedmoor on October 3 to open Big 7 Conference play.
