The Cedar Ridge volleyball team is 11-0 following a win over Durham School of the Arts on Thursday night. Earlier this week, the Red Wolves handed Carrboro its most lopsided conference loss since 2018, beating the Jaguars 3-0. It’s the first time that Carrboro has been swept in a conference match since 2018. As the Red Wolves winning ways continue, so do the accolades for several seniors. Last week, libero Sydnee Tapper surpassed 1,000 career digs. On Tuesday, Tapper added to her career total with eleven digs. Senior middle blocker Kayla Stoll finished with five aces, including four in a row to close out the second set, which Cedar Ridge won 25-15. Stoll also had four kills and three blocks against the Jaguars. In addition, senior setter Mia Marty surpassed 1,000 assists in last week’s win over J.F. Webb in Oxford. Marty is the third straight setter to surpass 1,000 assists in a career, joining Julie Altieri and Rachel Aversion. In the new Big 7 Conference, Cedar Ridge is in first place at 6-0. They are currently the #1 ranked team in the new 5A Classification by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association. Next week, Cedar Ridge will travel to South Granville to close out the first half of the conference slate. The Red Wolves have never started 11-0 in a season.
