After a difficult summer where Cedar Ridge announced it would not field a football team in June, the junior varsity football team earned a victory on Thursday night over Rocky Mount Prep. Junior Braxton Mergenthal, who is also a varsity basketball player for the Red Wolves, played offense and defense in Thursday’s victory. He blocked for quarterbacks Elijah Whitaker and William Berger as the Red Wolves won 28-2. The Cedar Ridge JVs will be back in action on Thursday night at home against Granville Central.
